House Democrats have made public a additional set of what they labeled "disturbing" photographs from the property of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 photographs—a portion of which have been previously circulated—along with another 70 issued later on Friday represent a small number of the nearly 100,000 images handed over to the House investigative panel, which is looking into the behavior and associations of Epstein.
The fallen money manager was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York detention cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking charges.
Included in the high-profile individuals seen in the initial batch are celebrities such as film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are redacted.
The White House responded to the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of purposefully "hand-picking" the images for electoral motives and to "attempt to fabricate a false account."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been consistently disproven," an administration official said, maintaining that "this presidency has done more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have at any point by consistently demanding disclosure, releasing numerous documents of documents, and calling for additional probes into Epstein's Democratic associates."
The photographs were disclosed lacking captions, but according to a Democratic representative from California and ranking member of the oversight committee, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's connections to affluent people.
"Now is the occasion to halt this White House obfuscation and deliver justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends," he stated in a release.
The publication of these materials coincides with the oversight committee pressing on with its inquiry into the Epstein case.
